Samsung FlexWash

Samsung FlexWash : Samsung FlexWash
From the selection of lights and shadows, to deciphering the tiny print on care labels, clothing may seem unnecessarily complicated. However, the Samsung FlexWash ($ 1,599 per 5.5 cubic feet capacity) aims to simplify one of the most tedious tasks of life with the push of a button on the phone. You can control, program and monitor the washer from an application. With many pre-set wash cycles and the ability to handle two separate loads at the same time, the FlexWash takes its name in terms of versatility. I had the opportunity to check it out at the Samsung 837 showroom in New York City and get some first impressions. Fold down on the laundry The FlexWash is made of stainless steel and features smooth corners polished for a smooth look. You can get it in black or white, in capacities of 5.5 or 6.0 cubic feet. The first is priced at $ 1,599, while the latter is $ 1,899. Not surprisingly, it takes up some space, at 46.9 by 27.0 by 34.0 inches (HWD) for 6.0 cu. Model I saw. The machine has two separate drums: one that is loaded from the front and one from the top, similar to the LG Twin Wash. But do not get too excited about the prospect of doing all your lights and shadows at the same time. No matter what size you buy, the top drum measures just 1.0 cubic feet for delicate garments or small, quick loads. The main drum, meanwhile, can handle an entire set of king bedding, or about 32 pairs of jeans. You will be able to do a lot of clothing, but not two full loads. Each drum has its own preset commands, including staples such as delicate and white, as well as more specific cycles such as active wear and bedding. You can also manually adjust the cycles depending on the temperature, the number of rinses, the speed of spin and the degree of dirt of the loads. There is a steam washing option for particularly annoying stains. According to Samsung, the FlexWash can complete a full charge in just 30 minutes. It is also supposedly much quieter than other washing machines, thanks to vibration reduction technology. I did not run a load to see if it lives up to these claims. Smarter than your average washing machine You can control the FlexWash over Wi-Fi using Samsung's Smart Home application. In addition to receiving updates on when the cycle is done, you can see the progress of the machine on your phone, eliminating the need to enter and exit the laundry. You can also program and schedule washes for each individual drum. And you do not even have to be at home to do it, since you can start washing cycles
